A day of reading and viewing videos as part of the ongoing research for the novel. I know I’m supposed to be writing full-tilt on the (exceedingly) rough draft, but I needed help getting into a character’s mindset and world. So I had to take this sidetrip and what a trip it was! Discovered some things that this baddie is planning and as bad as I think he is and his plans are, I want to push it further. It’s like acting on stage. You think you’re overdoing it but the people in the front row don’t even notice, much less the folks way back in the cheap seats. So I have to push further and make him worse than I can even imagine. Wait. Is that even possible?
Anyway… Thanks for stopping by! I wish you all the best on your own novel-writing adventure or whatever kind of adventure you’re having. You are having an adventure, aren’t you? I hope so! Cheers! 🙂
Word count goal for the month: 50K. Nightly: 1,667. Tonight: Over 2K. Total: 30,514. Woohoo!
Oh my goodness. What a day of thinking. Got some writing done but mostly what I got done was thinking and imagining. Talking over the story with my pack (they are amazingly literate for doggies) helped me see some hugely important things that I hadn’t really grasped before. Good thing my doggies are such good listeners. As long as I keep the treats coming, they’ll sit and listen to me yak away for hours. (Okay, what they really do is take the proffered treats and then go take a nap someplace where they can ignore me, but I digress.)
Thank you for reading. Blessings from me to you for your own noveling (or non-noveling) journey, wherever and whoever you are. Cheers! 🙂
Word count goal for the month: 50K. Nightly: 1,667. Tonight: Over 2,213. Total: Over 28,501. Woohoo!
I skipped last night’s update. My eyelids got so heavy I couldn’t keep ’em open long enough to post. Crawled into bed with doggies and got some much needed Z’s. Today I haven’t been writing as much as taking stock and thinking. I know, I know, you’re not supposed to do that during NaNoWriMo! But I did. So there. I feel like I’m wrestling with a super-mutant python and I’m trying to get a handle on it. Argh! 😉 Anyway…
Word count goal for the month: 50K. Nightly: 1,667. Tonight: So far 950. Total: Over 25K. Woohoo! Halfway there! Only not really because I don’t know where there is yet! Argh! 😉
Thanks for reading. Blessings on your own adventure and journey! Cheers! 🙂
What a whirlwind! And I don’t mean just the weather last night and this morning. 😉 My head is spinning with all the new thoughts and images and insights I’ve been having about the story I’ve been trying to write for so long. And this is a good thing but it’s rather a lot of a good thing to have happen all at once. Today has left me feeling grateful but also very tired. Of course, lack of sleep has something to do with it. And I’m going to solve that problem now. Hopefully I’ll dream about the story and get something I can use in tomorrow’s writing sessions. Hope so!
Thanks for reading! Cheers to you and your own whatever-kind-of-adventure, too! 🙂
Word count goal for the month: 50K. Nightly: 1,667. Tonight: Slightly 2K. Total: Over 22K. Yay! And YES! 🙂
There’s a storm going on over my house. Yes, right over my house. I’m pretty sure the floodgates have opened directly over my little roof on my little house. Good grief, it’s pouring! Lightning, thunder, Abby Dawg hiding under the desk, all the other dawgs sound asleep, ignoring the weather. And me typing like mad to get this update written and posted before the power or the internet or both go out. So no more chit-chat tonight, just the numbers and then I’m off of here.
Word count goal for the month: 50K. Nightly: 1,667. Tonight: A little over 3K. Total: A little over 20K. Woohoo! Now I’m gonna amscray! TTYL!
Quick update before bed where I hope visions of story scenes continue to dance in my head. 😉 I took a few minutes tonight to rough out a novel cover, too. I keep psd’s of headers and novel covers to re-use as templates. Been re-using some of them for years. This one still needs a lot of work and I have a few other ones in mind. But I’m too excited about the actual writing right now to spend any more time on it. I do like to have the images to look at, though. Made a NaNo calendar for my laptop and iPad a few weeks ago. Rough as hades but, hey, it works to keep the mood going and that’s the main thing.
Word count goal for the month: 50K. Nightly: 1,667. Tonight: 4200. Total: Just under 17K. Woohoo! 😀
Cheers! And I wish you all the best on your own adventure, whatever it may be! 🙂
I am so happy I could scream! But I won’t. All the doggies are asleep and I’ll be joining them just as soon as I finish this very short update post. 🙂
Word count goal for the month: 50K. Nightly: 1,667. Tonight: Just under 4K. Total as of this update: More than 12K. Stream of consciousness and quite the mess but I don’t care. Nope, not one little bit. I’m just glad to be writing anything again. Happy sigh.
Thank you for visiting and reading and I hope your own adventure, whatever it may be, is going well for you. Cheers! 🙂
Sooo tired but sooo happy! I have discovered so many new things about the story and I’m so glad because for a while there I hadn’t been writing and I hadn’t been discovering things either. Not things about the story. Stuff that could go in the story maybe, but not, well, it’s hard to explain. And I’m too tired to explain anything right now. But tonight I made my word count goal and then some. Time to crawl into bed and rest up for tomorrow. So much to do tomorrow, exploring this new world I’ve found. Yes! 🙂
Word count goal: 50K for the month or 1,667 each day. Day 3 total: Over 8K now. Yes! =)
Just a quick update before I close up the laptop and call it a night. Day 2 saw some interesting developments. Got some new insight into a couple of characters and situations. And once again passed the word count goal. I can’t say more yet because, well, I just can’t. So much is still so unclear to me and I don’t wanna jinx what little I do see. Good luck on your own writing adventure or whatever kind of adventure you’re having. And you are having some kind of adventure, aren’t you? I hope so! 🙂
Word count goal: 50,000 for the month or 1,667 each day. Day 2 total: Over 4,000 now. Yes! 🙂
PS: Update on Abby Dawg. She’s still having health issues but not like she was. She’s had a few bouts of HGE which were gnarly as all get out. Ugh! But right now she seems to be suffering from constant yeast infections. We try this, we try that, she gets better for a while, then it comes back and she’s itching and scratching all over again. Poor baby! She’s snoring away on the end of the bed right now and I’m about to join her. Thanks for stopping by. Peace! 🙂
Finally! I’m back in the writing chair again! Well, not again. Not the same chair. This is the chair I bought for my recording desk. But since I inherited my Dad’s old roll-top desk, which is tall like my recording desk, my super-duper heavy-duty drafting chair is having to pull double-duty at both desks. All my other chairs are way too low. And why am I rambling on about desks and chairs? Because I’m writing again and I’m so happy I could explode! But I won’t. I still have thousands of words to write so all explosions are on hold unless they develop characters or move the story along. 😉
Word count goal: 50,000 for the month or 1,667 each day. Day 1: Over 2,000. The graphic below (also in the right sidebar) shows the latest word count progress.
