I keep working on this novel and I keep discovering new things about it. About the characters, about the setting, about the point of the story itself. Which is a good thing. A good thing I don’t have a contract, that is! At some point I really have to commit to a storyline and who these characters are and get it written. But, however long it takes me to complete this project, I’m having oodles of fun doing it.
Music that is helping me write: I found two complete free albums of electronic music on the web. These are offered by the composers/performers themselves so no copyright issues involved. I’m enjoying these so much I wanted to share them with you.
John Stanford: Deep Space is available for free download. TimeScapes is a soundtrack but it’s not free and I haven’t listened to it. Yet. These are on the same page at his site. You’ll need to enter your email address to get the free one. Small price to pay for excellent music!
The next one is by Mike Andrews, several pieces he did for the soundtrack to a game called Roidblaster by Brainwave Games. Perfectly horrible name (Oh! I guess it means, Asteroid. Never mind!) but perfectly wonderful music. Get this entire album, and other works too, for free at Audiofarm. Get the tracks via podcast.
Oh! I almost forgot to tell you my word count! Drum roll on the taiko drums, please! (Tsk tsk, been listening to too much Bear McCreary. Wait, there’s no such thing as too much Bear McCreary!) My word count is currently: 38, 034! Yes! Woohoo!
And I almost forgot this too: I watched Syfy’s new show, Defiance, last Monday night. And I loved it! And Bear McCreary’s music for both the game and the show? Exquisite, as usual. How talented is this guy, huh? 😀 Available on iTunes and Amazon. I want it now!
